Andrews Air Conditioning has installed an air conditioning hire solution for an illustrious theatre in the heart of the West End’s Theatreland. Our solution, installed within 4 hours from the customer’s request, included two PAC 22 portable air conditioners, our larger and more powerful stylish water cooled ‘Split’ portable air conditioners.
Theatreland features some of the finest theatres in the world. From the biggest breathtaking award winning new musicals like Wicked and Jersey Boys, to some of the most uplifting feel-good musicals of all time such as Mamma Mia and Billy Elliot.

Andrews Air Conditioning has provided an air conditioning hire solution to a world leading production company currently filming a new blockbuster super hero film at Pinewood Studios. The two PAC 15 portable air conditioners supplied are stylish water - cooled ‘Split’ portable air conditioners. Pinewood Studios is the home of world class film, television and commercial production facilities. The Studios’ facilities are used for major national and international film production, filmed television, studio television recording, the filming of commercials and post production sound services.

Andrews Sykes has just supplied a crematorium with an ASF 21 Variable Speed Fan to create a comfortable and pleasant working environment by circulating clean fresh air, thereby assisting comfort cooling.
The crematorium is amongst the most environmentally friendly in Europe and the chapel has a state of the art media centre, providing live webcasts, online virtual tours and an almost unlimited music library. Tradition is not forgotten though and the beautiful, multi faith chapel is fitted with a Viscount organ.

With the exceptionally high temperatures experienced over the Formula 1 British Grand Prix weekend, Andrews Air Conditioning came to the rescue of the organisers by providing additional cooling equipment for vital areas in double quick time. The public Medical Centre was exceptionally busy dealing with members of the viewing public suffering with sun burn and heat exhaustion in the blistering temperatures. Andrews Air Conditioning came to the rescue by installing a PAC 22 unit to maintain a comfortable working temperature for the medical staff and patients.

Sykes Pumps have been contacted by members of a local fishing club that were experiencing major problems with oxygen deficiency at a fishing lake under their control. The hot weather had resulted in the loss of over 600 fish, a costly and traumatic experience for the members. Our experienced staff at the local Sykes Pumps depot recommended the use of our Venturi Aeration system to solve the situation.
Sykes Pumps mobilised their Venturi system the same day and the system was up and running within a few hours ensuring the oxygen levels increased to the extent that no further fish were lost. The package system, incorporating a Sykes 6” silenced pump, hoses and the Venturi Aerator is simple and easy to install with no moving parts and requires little supervision once installed.

When the boiler broke down at Queen Mary House, a purpose-built retirement home for women administered by the Schoolmistresses & Governesses Benevolent Institution, Andrews Sykes responded with a rapid heater hire solution comprising of 20 x 2kW convector heaters.
The SGBI is a charity founded in 1843 and incorporated by Royal Charter. The Home provides spacious accommodation in pleasant surroundings. Originally restricted to retired schoolmistresses and governesses, it now offers accommodation to a wider range of like-minded applicants including those requiring short-term respite care.

Sykes Pumps has supplied a complete pump hire solution for a 6,500 tonne sweetening deck and bridge structure. Having now left Hartlepool for its final offshore destination, it has now been successfully installed offshore, some 30 miles north-east of Peterhead in Scotland.
Sykes Pumps supplied a complete pump hire solution including a combination of over 100 pumps and submersible pumps, cabling, control panels and hoses. An expert team from our Sedgefield depot including Richard Box, Stephen Giles, Steven Parsley, Jason Sturgeon and David Jury was formed to ensure the successful completion of the project.
John Gallagher-Worthington, Northern Sales Manager of Sykes Pumps says: “Completing such a challenging project effectively and safely is a major accomplishment. It demonstrates again that Sykes Pumps is uniquely positioned with the expertise and capacity to execute large offshore projects”.

Sykes Pumps received a call recently from the control room of a major sewage treatment works to report a serious danger of flooding of the facility. Due to very heavy rainfall during the night the main pumps on the site were unable to cope with the conditions and the ensuing high demand, which put the site in serious danger of flooding.
Sykes Pumps regional Technical Engineer, reported to the site to assess the situation and advise how Sykes Pumps could help solve the situation. After liasing with the manager at the local Sykes depot, it was decided that more than one depot would need to assist to avert the potential risk; Sykes’ depot management staff mobilised engineers and delivery vehicles from two locations, delivering a total of 6 no. 6” diesel pumps complete with hoses and accessories to site immediately. Once installed Sykes Pumps engineers attended site on a daily basis checking that the equipment was operating correctly and no further risk to the facility occurred.

Andrews Air Conditioning have installed ten ASF 50 Variable Speed Fans at this week’s The Times CEO Summit at the London County Hall. The prime minister set out his three-step plan for ‘rebooting’ Britain at the Summit to over 100 leading chief executives. Organised by The Times this week, it was striking just how much goodwill the new Government enjoys from business, particularly in areas such as taxation and the urgent need to tackle the deficit.
