MOD Offices

In the summer of 2005, Andrews provided 34 PAC 22 portable air conditioning units for the offices of an MOD organisation that charts the world's oceans, providing marine, defence, leisure and hydrographic expertise. The equipment was hired by a well-known business services firm in partnership with a local services provider, for and on behalf of the MOD organisation. Since then, a three-year contract has been agreed to provide 35 PAC 22s each summer from 2006 until 2008.

Slough Design Agency

At a design agency in Slough, lots of IT equipment plus six people packed in a busy studio meant temperatures started rising. Big windows meant a high solar gain in the building, which had no fixed air conditioning, while the studio activity added to the heat – and a critical deadline was looming for a major client project. Within three hours of the call, Andrews had installed three Polar Wind portable units: all work was completed on time by staff who were no longer hot and bothered, and the client was delighted.

Commercial Sales Office

A busy commercial sales office in the M4 corridor had a big client meeting planned, aimed at closing an important deal – when the head office air conditioning system failed. 15 client contacts were expected in an enclosed meeting room to see a detailed sales presentation. One call to Andrews and the problem was solved: PAC22 portable air conditioners were delivered and installed within an hour, and the meeting went ahead as planned

Call Centre

Call centres are often mission-critical operations, whether inbound or outbound, and they typically feature lots of staff and IT equipment working in close quarters. In the summer, a call center contacted Andrews, desperate for help. In a low-ceilinged facility with large windows and cramped conditions, 50 agents working with PCs and printers were sweltering. Andrews recommended and delivered three Zephyr portable air conditioning units plus cooling fans - so work could continue throughout the summer without a hitch.

Small Architect’s office

Practice makes perfect: a small architect’s office with two members of staff was experiencing pretty uncomfortable temperature rises. Based in an old building, the rooms were cramped and featured big windows that the sun hit full on for most of the day. They called Andrews and, within three hours, had two Polar Breeze portable air conditioning units on hire. Problem solved.
