The pharmacy in a large Midlands hospital had problems: rising heat was causing some drugs to start deteriorating. Due to the hospital set-up, Andrews faced various obstacles: for example, most walls were internal and they were all firewalls. Plans for an air conditioning system were approved, with a brief for engineers to arrive, install and disappear with the minimum disruption to staff and patients. The Chief Pharmacist commented, “Andrews Sykes performed very professionally and we’ve since recommended the company to other departments within the hospital.” Further projects included multiple portable a/c units in various departments, and a specialist body storage facility for the Mortuary.

Machine Break Down

Medical machines are vital in healing almost every serious illness and are the tools that help to determine if someone is ill or not. At Andrews Sykes, we find it unnecessary that a machine, particularly in a life-saving environment, should break down due to over-heating. But due to the nature of hospitals, machines can be switched on for large amount of time.
